Indian Head Massage

Everyone needs to relax & escape. Indian Head Massage balances the body, relieves pressure and soothes away tension, so we can breathe, stand & move more freely.

We all have a tendency to ‘live in our heads’ building up excess energy & tension there. Blockages in the chakra can easily occur, resulting in lines, blemishes, headaches, migraine & eyestrain.

IHM is based on traditional & Indian techniques by using a variety of massage movements. Blood & lymphatic circulation is improved.

A complete treatment involves the face, neck, scalp, shoulders & upper back massage.

This treatment can be performed without the use of any medium, but oil can be used at the client’s wish where I can add and a few drops of lavender & rosemary essential oil. Lavender is used for its calming relaxing effect, while Rosemary, which also helps relieve aches and stress, gives an uplifting feeling and sense of being energised.

A full treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. It is a versatile treatment as it can be carried out almost anywhere. All that is required is a chair – no equipment is necessary & no clothing needs to be removed.

The chakra becomes balanced, the client feels relaxed, energised & ready to cope with the stresses & strains of a busy life.

IHM was traditionally handed down within the family through generations.

BENEFITS:-

Indian Head Massage is effective in the treatment or relief of headaches and migraines, stress, eyestrain, sinus problems, insomnia and aches/stiffness around the neck, shoulder and facial areas.

The condition of the scalp & hair can also be helped especially when oils are used as a medium. IHM promotes hair growth & is also said to help slow the greying process.

It is also known to promote alertness and vitality as the circulatory and respiratory systems open up to provide fresh oxygen and vital energies.

Massaging the back, shoulders, head and neck relaxes and soothes sore and tense muscles, reducing fatigue and greatly improving circulation. This type of massage is deeply relaxing and helps balance the bodies energy flow.

AFTERCARE:-

As with all touch therapies it is recommended that you drink plenty of water after the treatment to enhance the cleansing process, eat a light meal, avoid alcohol and relax !.
